Lenovo ThinkCentre M920q

What it is

The mid tier of the same Tiny generation as the M720q, not a newer machine. Same chassis, same 8th and 9th generation Intel support, same single M.2 NVMe slot. What you pay extra for is vPro remote management and an i219-LM network controller, which is the dedicated enterprise part rather than the consumer i219-V and is notably more reliable under a hypervisor. The P330 Tiny sits above it in the same family and is the one with both M.2 slots usable.

What to check before you buy

• One M.2 slot, same as the M720q. If you need two, look at the P330 Tiny or the M920x rather than converting this board.
• vPro and the i219-LM NIC are the real differences over the M720q. Worth it if you run Proxmox headless.
• The PCIe riser is often missing and costs $20 to $30 separately.
• Some units ship with a 65W adapter and some with 90W. Higher wattage CPUs need the larger one.

What a fair price looks like

Across 88 listings tracked in the last three days, the median total cost in USD including shipping is $208, and the lowest is $76. RackSniper flags a listing once it falls at or below 70 percent of the trailing 30 day median, which for this product means roughly $146 or less. Condition and configuration vary widely on used enterprise hardware, so treat the median as a reference point rather than a target.
